Serving the Broken

I was privileged to talk with and write about David Lingsch, a Pennsylvania pastor who now applies skills he learned in a career of psychiatric nursing to working with young adults in a church setting. Read about Dave in this article I wrote for AG News.

I was particularly struck by Dave’s comment that many young adults are not getting the help they need for navigating life’s tough times. We are on our third generation as a nation of people who weren’t raised with a general awareness of God in our culture—and it shows. We must look beyond whether we enjoy the currently popular trends, fashions, or music, and look for hurting hearts. We must show genuine love and earn the right to be heard, so we can speak truth into those lives.
