As a freelance writer for AG News, the online news voice of the Assemblies of God, I’ve recently been honored to talk with several people in their eighties who are continuing to serve, volunteer, preach, and teach. Why? Because God called them to it. This seems to be a common trait among people in their eighties and nineties: They do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do!

For example, there’s Phyllis. She served for 32 years coordinating and preparing a huge meal for a rescue mission, and still bakes for it. You can read about Phyllis at https://news.ag.org/news/mission-accomplished?D=1363B7E2EDBD4DD4B69CA160FF74CF6C

Or, how about Priscilla? She conducted weekly Bible study at a prison for many years, just recently cutting back to monthly after mentoring her replacement. Find Priscilla’s story, including testimonies from guys who say she influenced them to get involved in ministry and stay faithful to Christ upon release from prison, at https://news.ag.org/en/News/Ministering-at-89
